This is a Multi Platform Image Editing/Enhancement/Retouch Application written in Java offering various filters, effects and transformation with user friendly interface. Offering a phenomenal range of adjustment for most effects, you will find many features not found on expensive commercial editors.
It has been successfully tested in Windows(9x/NT/2000/XP), Linux, solaris,OS/2,Macintosh and IRIX . The new version also includes a tool called JPhotoBatch which allow batch processing like renaming / resizing (including generating thumbnails) / format(file type) change of multiple image files in a directory at the click of the mouse.
Features include:
* Open/Save JPG,GIF,PNG,BMP, TIFF and TGA images.
* Browse thumbnails of images from a directory and zip/jar files
* Correct image brightness, contrast, RGB, Gamma, Invert colors
* Use filters to Sharpen, smoothen, detect edge, emboss or use custom filter.
* Add effects like frosted glass,mosaic,venetian blinds,scramble,camera effects, solarize, wave, spotlight, oil paint, blend/merge images etc. Many more effects can be added as plugins, available for free in the product website.
* select regions as layers which can be moved/dragged/copied/cut/deleted/cropped and pasted as new selection or image. Image operations can be performed on selected region rather than on the whole image.
* different types of Fancy Text (rotated, 3D, shadowed, outlined etc) which can be dragged/ copied/cut/pasted/deleted.
* Remove noise
* use brushes with textures , clone image regions
* View Histogram and equalize histogram
* transform image - flip, rotate, shear, resize
* draw/fill shapes- rectangle, ellipse, lines, freehand. Use eraser
* warp(deform) image, overlay several images
* zoom in/zoom out, view full screenshot
* See print preview and Print images in multiple pages
* add third party effect plug-ins
* drag and drop support.
Plus lots of features are added in each release. Requires JDK 1.3 or higher unless you install the Windows version

Requirements: above 500Mhz CPU, above 32 Mb RAM, atleast 1 Mb disk space, jdk1.3 or higher installed (NOT required if you have installed the Windows version/Mac version)

2003-11-19	9	jonathan	well,it installed fine in my side. Probably use tried to install the All-Platform version which can be run in all java supported operating system but you need to have java 1.3 or higher installed in the machine. The windows version installed fine in my windows XP without any problem and it does not need java to be pre-installed in yhe machine. It cool program though i won't compare it to Adobe Photoshop. but what else can u get for $25!!!

2003-05-27	10	bhupen	This image editing tool is cool. I have used the earlier version simply called the 'JPhotoBrush', but this 'Pro' version is even better providing the essential features that the earlier ones lacked. Same program runs in my windows PC and Linux laptop. Indeed value for money.
